New Nissan Leaf revealed with semi-autonomous driving capabilities

Nissan Motor said the latest model of its Leaf electric car has a range of 150 miles and will include the company’s Pro Pilot autonomous driving suite

Chevrolet's Bolt and Tesla's new Model 3 come to mind, particularly when they are priced within the same price bracket. For example, it has semi-autonomous driving capabilities -meaning it will park without human intervention and can also run on a highway in a single lane without human intervention. Maximum speed will be 90mph but the 0-62mph time has not yet been stated. Flawless for making motorways less stressful.

It's unlikely to stand out in the supermarket vehicle park, which might be good or bad depending on your perspective - though to call the 2018 Leaf bland would be to do it a disservice.

The additional power and torque will be aided by an improvement in the chassis of the new-gen Leaf.

The former provides a single E-Pedal for controlling acceleration, breaking and stopping due by linking to the Leaf's regenerative tech which helps top up the battery with harvested kinetic energy when the breaks are applied.

The four-game series in the Bronx will end on Sunday and marks the last time the two rivals will play during the regular season. At home this season he has posted a 3.77 ERA, where as on the road that has risen to an uncomfortable 5.62 ERA.

Nissan says the conventional brake pedal is there only for "aggressive braking situations".

From our drive of a prototype vehicle last June, it worked: The 2018 Nissan Leaf is considerably quieter inside. The original has aged, and its cartoonish appearance seems from a bygone era today. Nissan says along with excellent aerodynamics, the styling - from the sleek silhouette to the car's "advanced expression" - evokes the exhilaration of driving an EV.

Nissan was to roll out the new Leaf at a press conference Tuesday night in Las Vegas and later in Tokyo. While EV sales remain under 1 percent of the USA market, the Leaf aims to capitalize on increasing government mandates for zero-emission cars. In the centre of the dash is a wide touchscreen, backed up by TFT dials in the instrument binnacle, and the architecture is again less "noughties" and more modern. Boot space has been upped to 435 litres - a 105-litre upgrade on the original model. An infotainment screen features in the center stack and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration for models equipped with navigation.

Nissan Motor Co Ltd launched a revamped version of its Leaf electric vehicle (EV) on Wednesday, going head-to-head with Tesla Inc's Model 3 and hoping to beat off criticism of limited driving ranges dulling EVs' mass-market appeal. The power bump means outputs of the front-mounted electric motor are now up to 110kW and 320Nm from 80kW and 254Nm. When we had asked the former head of Nissan in India about his thoughts on the leaf for India he said, "We will use Nissan Leaf to understand the market but I don't think it's the ultimate solution for India". For now, we do know the Leaf will undercut both in terms of pricing, as the base model kicks off at $29,990, which is actually lower by $690 compared to the current US Leaf pricing.
