LeBron's focus shifted from Finals to racism after vandalism

LeBron James Leading Cleveland Cavaliers To 2017 NBA Finals

In my view, this is a bad choice. Pachulia is back and ready to go after missing two games in the Western Conference finals with a heel injury. Those that didn't truly missed something special. "It's one of those legacy things that we'll sit down and talk about forever, people from our area just for this to come together like this is divine and it's special". While that may be possible for some, I find it virtually impossible to watch any sport I care about and not root for one team or the other. Korver ranks second among all active players with 104 playoff games without a Finals appearance, trailing only Joe Johnson's 112 games. The Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson is the best of the bigs. If Green can work well with Kevin Durant to at least pester James (of course, we all saw how insanely dominant James was past year, and if anything he has gotten better), then this series can bring about a lot of redemption for Green.

This year's NBA Finals presents an interesting choice. "I got a promotion when I got to the 30s".

Expectations were so high, fans - and maybe even some owners - resented Golden State for tipping the scales too greatly.

They may have to match up against one of the more stacked teams in National Basketball Association history, but the Cavaliers, who looked vulnerable late in the regular season, appeared nearly indestructible entering the Finals.

This year's Warriors team is much harder to root for.

There will be no love lost between these teams, especially after Green, whose Game Five suspension in the 2016 Finals was considered by many to be the turning point, said last November he wanted to "destroy" and "annihilate" the Cavs in a championship rematch.

For the Cavaliers, they are aware of what they're facing, as the team largely echoed Kevin Love's sentiment that the Warriors are a "talented group" and a "great team". If the Warriors win in five or the Cavaliers sweep Golden State, the champion would have the best one-season playoff win percentage in National Basketball Association history.

James says Jordan chase is about motivation, not greatness
The previous franchise record for points in a half was 74, set by the Cavaliers on May 4, 2016, against the Atlanta Hawks. Countered Golden State acting coach Mike Brown , when asked about it Thursday: "That's his opinion".

"When somebody asks 'What's the best part about doing The Finals, ' the best part is calling the games with the three of them", Breen said.

"Both teams are better than last year's teams". Durant has been terrific in his first postseason with the Warriors, averaging 25.2 points on 55.6 percent shooting.

What are the arguments to root for Cleveland? To use LeBron James' word, they are a juggernaut. It doesn't mean you can stop 'em, but you feel a little more confident in what you're trying to do to make them work to score points. But that is not the accomplishment by Jordan that James is chasing.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr could return to the team's bench during the NBA Finals, but it will not be for Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.

When it comes to LeBron, there's a reality that must settle in: It's just unwise to bet against him.

.

But maybe this year is different.
