Trump Responds To Manchester Attack In Meeting With Palestinian Leader

Donald Trump Calls People Behind Ariana Grande Concert Attack

I intend to do everything I can to help them achieve that goal. Interestingly, there is now renewed hope in this regional peace process exemplified by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remarkably stating, "For the first time in my lifetime, I see real hope for change". The worldwide community doesn't recognize Israeli sovereignty over east Jerusalem and Palestinians regard it as the future capital of an independent Palestinian state.

"By his actions in the Middle East, President Trump has made it clear he has no intention of giving a single inch to any of those who would oppose Israel's absolute right to sovereignty", Dobson said. It undermines the realization of a two-state solution.

"With Trump signing colossal arms deals in Riyadh, it seems we're witnessing another spectacular and confusing U-turn", he said.

While in Saudi Arabia, Trump partook in a ceremonial sword dance.

Both sides have been intensively lobbying Trump. But a key center-left figure called the visit "a missed opportunity of historic proportions". He didn't elaborate on the more delicate question: whether the administration would change USA policy over the status of Jerusalem.

A 45 minute meeting in Bethlehem with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas statements from both leaders after that meeting but no new revelations. And that was very emblematic of his whole trip here.

The last talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, led by former USA secretary of state John Kerry, broke down in April 2014 after around a year of largely fruitless discussion. The measures included extending the operating hours of the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan, expanding a West Bank industrial zone and allowing Palestinian construction in areas of the West Bank under full Israeli control. Does overtly siding with the Saudis over Iran mean the USA will automatically take the kingdom's side in proxy Sunni-Shia battles in the Middle East? This trip was much more about smiles. "Trump believes he can move their informal alliance against terror toward a broader peace agreement and even more concerted effort against Iran and terrorist organizations", he said. Let me say the Israelis would love to have peace.

"So many young, handsome innocent people living and enjoying their lives, murdered by evil losers in life", Trump said, echoing the theme he presented during his meetings with Arab leaders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"I make this promise to you, my administration will always stand with Israel", Trump told Israeli ministers at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem on Tuesday. Peace, he said, "can never take root in an environment where violence is tolerated, funded or rewarded".

Before leaving, Trump signed the guest book with a short message in which he gushed about the museum being "so incredible". "So wonderful, and will never forget".

He will meet Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday.
